MEET THE TEAM – KATHERINE

Our Stories

We are excited for you to meet the team at Ballarat Hospice Care!

At Ballarat Hospice Care, our people are the heart of everything we do, and we’re thrilled to shine a spotlight on Katherine Brumby, our Operations Manager. Katherine has been with us since October 2020, and her leadership, kindness, and commitment to our values inspire everyone around her.

Making a Difference
Katherine has spent her entire career working in health and human services, but her role at Ballarat Hospice Care is uniquely fulfilling.

“There are so many things that I love and appreciate about my role here, but the key thing that I love is working with the most compassionate and kind team of health professionals that I have ever had the privilege of working with,” Katherine shares.

She values the way Ballarat Hospice Care lives its values every day – not only in the care provided to patients and families but also in how colleagues support one another. “This commitment to our values is fundamental to my motivation of ‘being able to make a positive difference.’ We do make a difference every day – in big and small ways – with each of us having a part in caring for our patients and their families.”

Life outside Ballarat Hospice Care
When Katherine isn’t leading operations at Ballarat Hospice Care, she enjoys spending time at home in Alfredton with her husband, Paul. They share a love of gardening, focusing on organic, low-food-mile produce and creating a bee-friendly environment.

Words to Live By
One of Katherine’s favourite quotes is by Nelson Mandela:
“As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.”

Katherine embodies this sentiment every day, inspiring those around her with her light, dedication, and unwavering compassion.

Thank you, Katherine, for sharing your story and for the incredible impact you have on our team and the families we care for. Your leadership and kindness remind us of what makes Ballarat Hospice Care such a special place.
