We are excited to welcome Christine, one of the newest additions to the Ballarat Hospice Care team.
Joining us in May 2024, Christine brings a wealth of experience, a passion for palliative care, and a heart full of compassion.
Christine, a single mother of two boys aged 13 and 16, was born and raised in Ballarat. After spending two years in the UK and eight years in Melbourne, she returned to Ballarat 15 years ago to be closer to her family.
Her career began at McCain Foods as a Food Technologist and Customer Service Manager, followed by roles at Telstra in Special Investigations and Analytical Marketing. After having kids, she began teaching swimming to babies and young children. Driven by a lifelong dream, Christine pursued a nursing degree at ACU, graduating in 2022 while raising her young boys.
Christine’s graduate program at Grampians Health Ballarat, where she worked in various units, including Gandarra, ignited her passion for palliative care. She found her true calling in providing compassionate care to patients and their families during challenging times.
In her spare time, Christine enjoys furniture restoration, finding joy in breathing new life into old pieces. A unique insight into her personality: during a primary school book week, she was the only student who dared to eat a fried worm, inspired by the book “How to Eat Fried Worms” by Thomas Rockwell (1973).
Christine is thrilled to join Ballarat Hospice Care, dedicated to providing compassionate support. We are confident she will bring exceptional care and comfort to our community.
Please join us in welcoming Christine!
