WELCOMING KAREN ROBINSON

News,Our Stories

We are delighted to welcome Karen Robinson as the new CEO of Ballarat Hospice Care.

Karen brings extensive leadership experience across disability, aged care, education, and human services. She has guided organisations through growth, change, and innovation, with a focus on governance, quality, and sustainability, while always keeping people and community at the heart of her work.

Karen also has a longstanding connection with Ballarat Hospice Care. She previously worked with the Grampians Regional Palliative Care Consortium, based at our Drummond Street office many years ago, and volunteered with Friends of Hospice to support BHCI fundraising. Her connection is also personal, having experienced Ballarat Hospice Care’s support as a family member.

For Karen, joining Ballarat Hospice Care feels like a dream – an amazing opportunity to bring together her experience, values and connection to an organisation and community she cares deeply about. She is looking forward to listening, learning and working alongside our staff, volunteers, Board, partners and community to honour what makes Ballarat Hospice Care special and help guide our continued support for people and families facing life-limiting illness, dying and bereavement.

“Having experienced Ballarat Hospice Care from several different perspectives over many years, I know just how special this organisation is to our community and what its care can mean to people and families. To now have the privilege of leading Ballarat Hospice Care feels incredibly special. I’m excited about what we continue to build together, while always protecting the heart of this very special organisation.”

We warmly welcome Karen and look forward to this new chapter together.
