Ballarat Hospice Care is proud to partner in Dying to Know Day 2024

Ballarat Hospice Care is excited to be part of this year’s Dying to Know Day, a national campaign that goes beyond just one day – it’s a movement dedicated to ensuring everyone’s end-of-life wishes are respected and fulfilled.

Now in its twelfth year, this campaign fosters open discussions about end-of-life planning, with a focus on self-advocacy and aligning choices with personal values.

In collaboration with the Grampians Regional Palliative Care Team and partner agencies, we are thrilled to present two live performances of Unspoken, an interactive, creative piece by the internationally acclaimed physical theatre group, Born in a Taxi. Originally commissioned by the Department of Health, Unspoken invites community members to engage in meaningful conversations about end-of-life planning in a unique and thought-provoking way.

“Working with the partner agencies on this event, our goal is to help people feel that they can have a conversation about what they want as they consider and begin their end-of-life planning,” says Katherine Brumby, BHCI Operations Manager. “By participating in events like these, we hope to encourage people to have these important conversations. We will provide information, resources and practical tips on how to talk with your family and friends about what you want.”
