Palliative Care Nurse (1994 - 2023)

I had the absolute pleasure of working at Ballarat Hospice Care for 30 years as a palliative care nurse. Hospice is a very special organisation and a privilege to have been part of for so long.

I witnessed many changes over 30 years, but the fundamentals remained. Care of the dying patient, their families, carers and loved ones always remained of utmost importance. Caring for patients in their homes or chosen place of care and enabling them to die with dignity and respect was a great privilege.

Every member of the Ballarat Hospice Care team is so important, each with a special role to play. I am so proud to call them my colleagues and friends.

May Ballarat Hospice Care continue to provide a pivotal role in the care of the dying, as it has done for the last 40 years
